“Our partnership with CFW has many positive aspects. Our staff and clients have benefited greatly from the knowledge gained. Many of our clients are experiencing poverty and have been so grateful for the education and ability to build an emergency fund for their future.”
Todd Lewis (Alvis Program Manager)
“This program has assisted me in feeling more secure if there is a small emergency in my life. This is a program that is beneficial to anyone, even if they think they know everything about finances. It forces you to think and heal a little in places you didn’t even know needed work. This program showed me additional tools that I could use to assist me obtaining the goals I have set for myself this year. I feel like I am going to be able to securely build a savings account and achieve my short term goals I have set for myself this year. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to participate in this program to learn and grow.”
YMCA Stable Families (Participant)
“I took this program as a step toward my financial stability goals. I lost my job at the end of 2024 and I needed a flexible program that could give financial guidance to help me manage my home expenses while attending school. The program helped me to determine which costs were necessary, to choose the best use of my available income, and it empowered me to make better financial decisions overall while I put my energy into working full-time to complete barber school as a way to increase my income. The budgeting exercises gave me an overview of how I have been spending money and how to better tackle my bills moving forward. I was even able to begin building an emergency fund within my savings account right away. I’m hoping to use what I learned to reduce my car loan and credit card debt so that I can start saving up for bigger financial goals in the near future.”
